He's doing much better. He and Butthead are getting along well. However, it's tough for him, she bullies him around with her 82 pounds. He's discovered the joys of eating paper and chewing lamp cords.

It's really funny, he's got a slight case of kennel cough. When ever he coughs he hacks like he's a three pack a day man. But he's getting better.

Scout sounds like he's doing well - just don't let the chewing get too expensive or frustrating! When my black and tan and pointer were pups they were driving me crazy with their chewing. After they found a couple of my tools and chewed through the cords, I was just about ready to take them for a "one-way walk"! They have outgrown it, and are now very affectionate pals of mine. They have come a long way for a couple of pups dumped by my old house!

paper is much, much better than an adult dog that eats three bags of halloween candy because your sister never bothers to obedience train her pets. not that I'd know.

yeah. she called me on the phone last night really worried because amos ate a bag of peanut butter cups, a bag of peanut M&Ms, and a bag of almond joys, and she was worried. amos is like three now, and has the worst behavior I've ever seen in a dog. my sister and her husband are horrible about giving him mixed messages, didn't even spend an hour trying to train him when he was a pup, and he's dumb as a brick. they're trying to have children right now, but I think everyone else in the family is kinda hoping they don't, what with the bang-up job they've done with their dogs. peaches, the other dog, is also totally out of control, and she's only about one.

Butthead has matured (I use that term loosely) into a pretty good pup. She took to obedience fairly well. However, we still have some off lease issues that we're working through. It's mainly ignoring things that smell good.

Scout will start leash training this weekend. He won't like it but that's tough sh^&. We've already started with the basics and he's getting sit down reasonably well.

I didn't realize what a head ache it was to puppy proof a house. last time I tried bitter apple and other crap like that. That stuff sucks. Scout is going to get 100% Jalapeno oil on everything he should be chewing.

in all fairness to butthead, I have the same problem, and I'm 224 in dog years. it usually goes a little like this:
"stay away from that pot roast."
okay. *eats some pot roast*
"I told you to leave that alone! it's for dinner!"
I am leaving it alone. *eats more pot roast*
"[censored] it, get out of here!!!"
okay. *eats more pot roast*

I am more pit bull than Lab in the stubbornness department myself Din.

I love Labs they really want to please their owners. So long as they have some work to do they are great.

I despair of anyone who can't train a dog raising kids. Their whole life is realy decided by the love and discipline they get in the very early years. Once they are rotten teens it is way to late. I would be tempted to slip her a depo provera shot every few months.

eh, she's having enough trouble conceiving without any help. I don't like seeing her unhappy, but at the same time I like not being an uncle to a mess of effed up kids, I don't care how cute they'd be.
we went out tonight and she told me amos threw up all the candy wrappers today. ugh.

That Puppy reminded me about what Colbert said about Knut the polar bear cub.

"OH NO HE'S MAKING ME LOVE HIM"

What an adorable little guy.

Din if she does have kids at least they will have a great uncle. Your response was so gentlemanly I feel like a jerk. I apologize for treating your family issues lightly.
