Hope you missed the tendon! I cut the tendon on mine, and chopped the bone of the knuckle. It didn't really bleed or hurt, but the instant it happened, I saw the white flash of bone in the cut laid open like a meat taco, and I knew I was headed for surgery.

knock on wood, but the worst one for me involved my left index finger and a bow saw.
Thank goodness for cold winters! My first warning was when my left glove froze solid from my thumb through my middle finger.

just a big lump scar that is being very resistant to my efforts in mashing and smashing it away, and a bit of lingering stiffness. not 100% but doing fine.
Expensive though. I have yet to begin paying anything, and I have no intention to begin any time soon It's not expensive till you've paid the price! That includes time off from work, recreational time lost, pain of injury, and a lot of other ways we pay for our mistakes! We buy our wisdom in life in many ways! Hope you recover fully RF!

rat finkenstien you make me feel lucky,i thought mine was kinda bad.i was battoning with a 5/16in thick cold steel ghurka kukri and chopped my finger.i was 2hrs from the hospital i was way back in the woods in the middle of the night all by myself with no med kit.i thought i broke it cause i couldnt move it. i packed my gear hiked out and drove to the hospital.i cut the tendon about half way and got away without surgery, just some stitches.luckily i had some beer left, drove, hiked and got back to my camping spot about 4 am. that was about a month ago.i almost have full movement and returned to full duty at work today.seeing yours makes me fell lucky.that 5/16in cold steel is a beast though and in=m lucky to have my finger.here i am back at camp after getting stitched up. it dont look bad in this pic and it isnt, yet i can tell and feel that it wont quite be the same again. i take blades much more seriouse now.

I've seen a lot of left hand forefinger injuries here...
I'm gunna keep that in mind now when playing with my sharp pointies...
It's good to be reminded from time to time just how easy it can be to have an accident with one of these fine blades...

In an emergency you can use super glue as stitches. You can also use plain dental floss. No AK's or full auto weapons sucks but I love the free medicare in Canada. I don't even want to think about how much it would have cost me to get my arm sewn back on
It looks from the photo that the whole finger was right off and they sewed it back on like Frankenfinger.

I chopped my hand open with my CG S6 in July. Zero damage to the edge from the tendon and bone! WOW .... That looks vicious!!! I hope that heals up OK.

I am glad I did not do it with my FBMLE, there would have been digits flying all over.

I tangled with a table saw and my left thumb about 15 years ago.
Sorry... no pics. I didn't have a digital camera back then. Didnt' even have a computer back then.
I was cutting a large piece of wood that was binding the blade bad and wasn't lining up with the stupid shield guard brace at the rear of the saw.
I reached across - I guess intending to adjust the board to line up with the stupid shield guard brace.
I apparently didn't reach very carefully. The saw snagged the face/pad of my left thumb and ripped it off of my thumb.
I was VERY lucky. The saw didn't cut bone or tendon. But, ripped off the whole thumb pad.
I was also lucky that other stuff didn't happen.
This was a cheap table saw I had purchase for about $99.00 bucks years ago. The saw didn't actually have a table, so it was short and on the ground. I had the saw on a back patio against a fence that was about 40" or so high and was squated down in front of the saw to cut the wood.
I have pretty scarry reflexes.
When I cut my thumb, I somehow jerked so violently and so fast that in what seemed like an instant, I found myself on the other side of the fence.
I somehow jumped / flipped over the running saw and the fence and apparently even did a 180 as I was facing the fence on the other side.
I don't remember the jump/flip. Just remember sawing, reaching, jerking, then being on the other side of the fence.
The doctors had to cut a big chunk of skin from the side of my hand to graft it on to the face of my thumb.
The repair surgery was WAY worse than the accident with the saw! Much more painful and much more EXPENSIVE!!!
The day after the accident, I found the big chunk of thumb skin pad stuck to the patio under the saw.
In hind-site, I really wish I would have looked for the piece of flesh prior to going to the emergency room. They probably could have cleaned it and sewed it back on that night in the emergency room without me having to go to a plastic surgeon and the major pain and expense with letting him hack up the side of my hand for more flesh to sew onto my thumb.
Sometimes lessons are painful and expensive.
Now I have a flat thumb that feels pretty weird and not very enjoyable when doing certain tasks - Threading a nut onto a screw in particular is very ... not enjoyable. The hard knurls of something like a nut, drive through the thinner flesh to the bone. Feels like the knurls are grinding on my thumb bone.

one time when i was about eight. i was trying to stab through something with my pocket knife and it slipped and the blade of the knife went right through my hand in between my thumb and index finger. almost literally all the way through. for a split second i could see the knife poke up through the other side. i ripped the knife out and screamed! and my dad tied it up really tight with a towel and I walked around holding my hand up to stop the bleeding. it healed over pretty well and i needed no stiches.
