I have seen the Ontarios with the through tempered 1095 fail before. Its a great steel, easy to sharpen and great edge-holding, but it is not a shock steel. Maybe the new RAT Cutlery with the differntially tempered blades will do better.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I think you will like it here Noss. When you give a knife like the S6 or HookGuard a really sharp reprofiled blade you have one hell of a blade. INFI and S7 can be ground thinner than most steels because that same strength that makes it possible to hammer through a steel bar allows a very very sharp edge that wouls roll with regular steel. I want to see a thinner Ratmandu style knife because it is ot like S7 needs to be thicker than other steels.
Imagine a Scrapper as thin as a mora?

Welcome to the yard Noss, the home of super tough blades, and people that realise that a knife IS a sharp pry bar!! Loved your work on the S6 (my favourite knife most of the time). Watch out for the DF though- that is a B.M.F!!

Thanks Horn Dog, I should of come here sooner I guess but the truth is I don't own any of the Busse Family blades. Except the one I tested it was donated to me by a BF member. I did have a Busse once for a very short time I bough at a gun show but I didn't know anything about it. I didn't use it for anything it just sat. I sold it to a friend of mine who moved to Alaska.
I have always been into knives but for many years I was to busy with work and just kind of fell out of touch with everything. I have had a lot of catching up to do the last year. It's been fun.
Great to be here.
