As I reported it shows extraordinary sharpness out of the box - best I ever see (better then Dozier, Matsuda, Currahee, Military and dozen of other good knives I tested this year).

I like handle - being secure it also good for manipulation, changing grips on the fly etc... And it has solid, strong, blade.

I did not like the way spine and handle connected - with this steel (SR77 - which is S7) it may be place to start corrosion, fortunately it is easy to fix and to me that fix even looks better then it was before.

Lately, I develop some tendency to modify knives - so this is kind of opportunity I can not miss. I actually like to have this opportunity.

And of course, I made some pictures:

Interesting and cool pics. What specifically did you not like about the spine/handle connection?

Ok, so the gap in the back you got rid of by grinding down the grip and blade to where the tang is full/flat.

This may actually stengthen the blade (depending on the original radius?) however...

I hate it. Does not look good, and i love the flat back spine for thumb placement.. (don't get me wrong, not waiving the 'moron' flag or anything... I get it.. its just not for me... how bad was your gap to prompt this grind?)

Remember, you can heat up ResC a bit and reshape it a bit... I would have tried to 'push' it forward or return for warranty if gap was your issue...

if you did this for another reason... then to each their own...

Yes I grind out part of the spine a little, I did not reach tang really, I also strighten handle bit more then I did it for spine. And to my taste it looks better then original, also it gives some little bump for thumb to push knife better. And of course there is not gap between blade and handle to catch water, bacterias, dirt etc...

Yes, I love it! It appropriately connect thin handle with thick blade from design point of view. Before it was like to unrelated pieces, but now it play together much better.

Thanks, Vassili.
