there wouldn't be balance in the Force.. Exactly. Spyderco's where my folders come from. The Yard is where my FBs come from.

For fixed blades.. well.. that's what Scrap/Swamp/Busse are for!

If I had to speculate why the trap was discontinued, and discontinued rather abruptly I would say the warranty. The Swamp builds knives to be abused, S30V is not meant to be abused. I think people saw it was a Rat and did stupid stuff with it; like trying to pry 3" thick ice with it. A folder is more of a slicer / light wood working knife. It is not meant to be batoned or used as a pry bar and I think people have trouble understanding that. Even the sebbie will break if you try to pry with it. The difference is the Swamp would replace the knife, Chris Reeve won't. If they had enough knives returned for this reason and there profitt margin went below a certain level then they discontinued it. With most there knives they gave a warning on when they would be discontinued but the Rat Trap they just came out and said "its discontinued". That is my story and I am sticking to it, even if its not right!
I'm a crazy rabid squirrel and I want my cookies!

And those particular companies make fixed blades like sharp pry-bars.. My S6 is part knife, part pocket hatchet and part jemmy! Ideal really.
I've got to say any folder is a kid gloves job.. They are always going to be weak compared to even a crap* fixed blade.. (* insert company name of choice!)

Rabid Squirrel & Paul, Bingo.. So true!
a folder's got limitations.. well so does a fixed-blade, but its limits are Higher.
