Dear God, save us from GF's shreddies... The DF is the poor mans FBM, just with a much better handle (and price tag)! Really it's just carbon steel for $140 or stainless for $370.. I'll just add a small nalgene bottle of oil to my kit! I would have bought a res-C FBM and came too darn close to a micarta one in a moment of weakness... Phew, once I have Dan's big dog then that's big knives sorted in my house!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Agreed.. the passing of the FBM from the Busse store was sad.. but in some ways i'm a little glad.. because I too kept looking at it.. couple times came close to pulling the trigger.. but did NOT! (oh man i'm gonna be sorry some day)
Dunno if i'd get a Dog Father in LE though!
Because.. i would wanna USE it too much!
I AM considering getting Two Coated DFs though!

Good call Tony, beat the hell out of those bad boys! The CG DF just makes so much sense; and I REALLY don't have much use for a heavy-weight monster like that! I just really like the look of the thing (and the spec').

I've never held one personally.. i know I Really LIKE the HRLM.. so went based on that. we'll see how it goes!
