I am thinking about buying a Bark River Northwind. Any thoughts on this blade verses other golok/machete types? Anyone ever owned a Northwind?

I have a Golok and like it very much. As Dave said, the Northwind is a memory.

I have two of them and they are my favorite swords. That said I already have a BRKT Golok pre ordered. The handle on the golok is more secure(finger don't slide down the blade) and the blade is shorter and easier to use in the brush. For the real world the golok is better, for zombies the Northwind is better.

Oh, I'm not selling either of my Northwinds.

Ted,
If possible, can you post a pic of a northwind?
I am intrigued.

Here's a couple of shots. The top view shows the amazing geometry of the grind. That's the main reason Mike won't make anymore. It's to time consuming to grind them.

A treat from the mailman. A "mint" Limited Edition Northwind. Almost identical to Ted's. Beautiful. Plus a "tan" Mutt. Nice. Will take pics as soon as I read Andy Wayne's instructions on pic posting.

Hehe, they are ALL limited editions. I believe Mike only made around 600 or was it 400?
