Here's some toys I picked up recently. Mostly in trade. If you ever told me I'd own a Glock I'd say you were crazy, if you told me it would be 9mm I'd say you'd need to be committed. Caved in and got one and I must say I'm impressed, shoots great and buying ammo for it won't break the bank.

Busse will be a great EDC, perfect size. Pretty cool digicam kydex came with it

Don't know why I need another Surefire, but dang they are good lights.

Hope you guys enjoy the pic.

Glocks are definitley a quality impact tool. Great looking set of items there. That looks like a Dave Brown sheath.

I hated Glock's for years until I actually shot one. I didn't understand how it could possibly be a good shooting gun. I hated the plastic, hated the design and mostly hated how it felt in my hand.
I still don't think they are even half-way decent looking guns. But, the darn things sure shoot well and are very reliable, tough and functional.

I only have one in .40 - model 27.
Which is night and day better to me with the little finger extension on the clips! I don't like having my little finger hanging. It does a lot for control IMO.

As much as I love my 1911 style .45's, I keep pondering a Glock in .45 to see how I like it. I would probably consider the model 21 with 13 rounds to see how it compares to my Para Ordnance P-14 with 14 rounds.

Nothing like having a lot of rounds of heavy caliber in a smooth shooting gun. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Although, the catch is, they are too big for carry and not nearly as good as my Benelli M1 for home defense... so ... (?????) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Plus, I already have the P-14 and I keep blowing all my cash on knives. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" />

I haven't been able to buy a gun in a few years now.... Probably since I found Swamp Rat... Then Busse... Then Scrap Yard... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

I don't actually own a 9mm. I much prefer .40 and .45 (own 3 in each), but 9mm is much more economical if you do lots of shooting with it.

Congrats Rover! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> After considering a Glock for a long time, the opportunity came up to get one at a reasonable price - a Model 22 in .40 S&W. I am really impressed with it and enjoy shooting it. Glocks are the choice of our Sheriff's Department as well. Check out CDNN for extra magazines - they have the best price for magazines I have found, and not just for Glocks. Tom <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Congrats that is a nice set up. I like all those quality toys.
Glocks are nice and work very well but have no soul. They are what I would use for
a murder because you only have to ditch the barrel.

I would like to get a Glock, have shot a few and liked them, but I can't get over the lack of a manual safety.

I had a Glock 26. I just couldn't get use to the grip angle. I ended up giving it to my wife, she'll use it for CCW. I settled on a SIG 229.

Personally I like the lack of a manual safety.

For defensive purposes, I don't personally want to have to think of much more than identifying my target and pulling the trigger. I like simplicity.

I like the way the 1911 style guns shoot and I think the best looking guns tend to be 1911 style, but I don't care for all of the safety and lever devices everywhere. They contradict instinctive function. (IMO).

...... yeah .... I know practice practice and all that. Safety .. Safety and all too.
But, I like the concept of simplicity in self defence:

- identify, point and shoot. ..... And shoot a bunch more. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I would rather focus on keeping my barrel pointed in the right direction than have to think about safeties.

And for safey, I actually feel a little more comfortable with a Glock and it's mechanism than a 1911 cocked and locked.

They both have their pros and cons to me still.
