After that, I'd like to see Dan move in a completely different direction. ..... An even simpler design like a Greco MST with a Res-C handle would also be nice.

If not, then I'd prefer shorter, thinner blades made out of alloys with better edge-holding and corrosion resistance than SR77 has. So either new designs or new alloys or both!

I like the MST design. I actually have two MSTs as I was able to buy them for very cheap on ebay at one time and I have wanted to "finish" them. Since I was able to buy for so cheap, I felt they would be Great project blades. The general design is nice. I have had a few of Greco's knives including one very similar, but slightly smaller than the MST called the Companion that is also nice. Those two are my favorites.

I had two Whispers, but sold them. The just didn't do it for me.
And I still have a Dangler, but meh..... Not sure about it yet. It has potential, but needs work.

The MST and Companion would generally probably be regarded as a fighter by most, but I think they are both pretty good field knives - although fairly thick - especially considering the low blade height.

However, (Generally) I am NOT very fond of Greco's fit and finish. One of the worst. Generally, very poor scales and lots of sharp edges. Talk about a project blades....

But, worthy and nice project blades if you can buy them cheap.

I actually have one Greco fighter with a longer A2 blade that has the only nice fit and finish I have seen from Greco. The Scales are a cool burgundy/tan color. Great knife. Notice the difference in the fit and finish of the handles on the large figher vs. the MST. The large fighter is a full fitted scale and finished to smooth with comfortable contouring. The large fighter feels very nice in the hand with good balance. THICK tough blade.:

And one of my MSTs. Flat shrunken cheap scales. But, GREAT Blade shape and design.:

I will probably sell the large fighter and one MST and keep one of my MSTs and the Companion. I don't need two MSTs. I will probably keep the dangler as well, but it is another project knife to me.

.

JYD #39 I prefer "SATIN" blades!!!

Forgive my ignorance but why does anybody, except maybe a soldier, want a fighting knife ? Do ya just have them to look at ? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I don't care what's next, as long as it is tan.

A skellie would be nice, since so many of my friends missed out on the swamp ones.
