Awhile back I mentioned that I am building a house in the country. Well I just finished painting the outside. There is still a little bit left to doaround the windows but the main part is done. Now I can focus on the inside getting it ready for drywall.


It's a 48' Concrete Geodesic dome 3 stories, 5 bedrooms, garage on the lower floor. It sets on 4 acres and we also have the 5 acre lot next door. It's on top of a ridge with a ~10 mile view most of the way around.

my dads a contracter and he is thinking of building a few houses like that

that is awesome. my father's an engineer and i've had a few jobs in that industry myself growin up. as both an artist and a laborer, i appreciate a beautiful project like that.

The dome itself is a kit you buy from AI (American Ingenuity) domes. The rest you have to do yourself. I still have a lot of work to do but it's getting there.

Great looking dome! It looks very remote in that area, that's a good thing.

Other than the doors and windows, I see no 90 degree angles. I wonder if it has a radar signature? Does the design offer heathing/cooling advantages Bors?

ooooh geo-dome shape, enough land to set yo a target range? (with good backstop)
