I know we are not to go into other manufacturers blades, but I hope this is Kosher as it involves one of our own,.. Rainwalker. I bought a sweet blade from Himalayan Imports that came with a junk sheath. The blade is plenty sweet, designated the 'Ultimate Fighter' but the sheath provided was so bad, it made using/carry of the blade impossible.
here is the blade/where I bought it:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=486836&highlight=ultimate+fighter Overall length -- 17.5''
Weight -- 36 oz
Spine thickness -- 3/8''
(no false edge, this thing is a butcher on both sides, and I hear it even cut Rainwalker)
This is what i sent to RainWalker, you can see the problem in the second picture. Even if i pulled out the fishing line that was used to stitch her and replace with wire... the sheath would not function as the sheath was cut too short where the tip protrudes.:

He sent me back a few sketches for sample designs... I choose the open back for its speed and beauty (figuring the design was perfect for a fighter... so i can have a nice straight fast pull and easy return)... Material, tooled leather to match the scales. From what I described, I wanted nothing too fancy.. just tough and functional... but what I got was beyond what I expected, in beauty, design, and function. (I understand there is even a kydex insert just at the seam where the point would put the stitches/seam/leather at risk). The lines of the blade are totally complimented, and pictures simply do not do her justice.

Moral of the story is, the guy who makes my ScrapYard sheaths can do a sick job on other blades as well! Thanks Jeff. I should be sending you a DogFather LE for a sheath in about 2 weeks!
