It just seems that PoP does prefer leather by a long shot, so we should go leather or bust.

Although you are correct about not adding to the price right now. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

One thing at a time.

You Guys raise the money for the knife and I'll pay for a reasonable leather sheath from rainwalker.....Sound good???

Guys I hate to be a party pooper, but I just wouldn't feel right taking money from anybody for this cause for a sheath. I understand and appreciate the jesture, but PoP's my friend and I just cannot imagine myself profiting in any way from the kind jesture being done for PoP. I know that PoP is a customer of mine too but that's different.

Bramel, I apreciate your offer as well along with all the others.

My offer is this, I couldn't always do it especially not leather, but I'll make PoP a nice leather sheath for his knife. I'm real busy and it will take me a little time to get to, but I'll fix him up with some pants.

You guys just concentrate on the knife, the pants are on me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I'd love to help. Count me in. Additionally, I'd like to contribute on the sheath as well... there is a difference between profit and covering time and materials. Isn't the point that we're universally and equally standing up in support of PoP, Jeff's selfless offer not withstanding?

we're doin real well, guys.

i don't want anyone contributing twice. either we cut a share of the cash for the sheath or we cover rainwalker's share. that still doesn't cover his investment in the sheath.even if he makes a $100 sheath, once we get thirty that's only $10 each. i think we'll hit 30 by wednesday morning.

also, i think i need to set a more definite deadline for signups and the second deadline for sending funds.

i think wednesday morning for signing up and wednesday afternoon for sending money. maybe 10AM and 5PM, eastern. sound okay? all the money should be in by the time i get home, around 6:30PM eastern. that won't give me much time to hunt down and PM anyone who doesn't send funds, so please stay on top of things.

i'll update the first post in the thread with these details if you guys agree.

actually, we'll give the west coasters a few more hours. make it 2PM eastern. that gives everyone three hours to find out what the cut is and send the funds.

Sorry, I'm not on Pay Pal and I don't want to be. I can mail a check or MO, or use plastic one way or another. Is there still a way for me to do this?

please just use it this once. it's easy, safe, and most importantly fast. if you have a friend on paypal, ask them to use it. i don't want to complicate things any further by waiting for mail delivery or using different wire transfers.

if this is no good, PM me.

Yep. Except for those who work for a living, don't live on the East Coast, and don't have access to the internet during working hours. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

This is getting far more complicated than it needs to be. The knife will cost $195 shipped. Divide $195 by 30 people and our share is $6.50 each. Add a buck to cover PayPal fees and we're up to $7.50 each. Throw in a couple of extra bucks to cover the cost of the sheath and the total is $9.50 each. Kick in an extra $0.50 in case somebody backs out or we don't get a total of 30 participants and the grand total is $10.00 each. Done, done and done!

M22, post your PayPal addy and I'll send you my $10.00 right now. That way I won't have to try to keep up with you on a weekday during business hours. If you need more money later, just let me know and I'll kick in another buck or two . . . it's no big deal.

Thanks. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

i really don't want to be sending back remainders to everyone who sents me too much money, that's a pain. bruce, i can't stop you. hopefully you and anyone who follows won't go overboard.

my paypal address is camelotmag@aol.com. anyone who's going to participate MUST include their FORUM USERNAME in the message or subject when they paypal me.
