I worked in the cook county warehouse in Illinois one summer and we had to move everything around (reorganizing), and I found a recorder of deeds book (giant thing) that had Abraham Lincolns signature in it! It was cool. I told the supervisors and I'm sure it was gone soon after.

ANDY:
Do you want that book?? That’s ok, you don’t have to give me your book, I was just curious what it was since it was the oldest one you had. I have a couple Bibles from the 1850’s, some herbal medicine books from the 1800’s, a book on prospecting and the 49ers from the 1800’s, some woods/outdoors books from the 1930’s-50’s, a first edition Morals and Dogma from 1871 (I had 6 more, but I sold them), and several American history books from the early 1800’s (and their hundreds of pages thick of history, when the country was still VERY young), plus a lot more I’m forgetting. I should take a pic with my old books with knives on ‘em sometime. You can surely have it if you'd like - its a children's story book of some kind, not too terribly interesting but old none-the-less. The old lady downstairs gave us some Russian books, and it was thrown in the mix for some reason. Let me know if you change your mind!

I left in a rush to my internship thismorning, and forgot to take my EDC stuff with me. Came back at lunch, and my Vic Soldier is missing from the table...
hmmmmmm.... Jordan likes to pick it up and look at it (closed, of course) when he sees it... I know he doesn't have the dexterity to open it - being two years old and all - and it being a PITA to open tools on - so I'm not so much worried about him hurting himself as I am about where he stashed it!
I figure Jordan probably put it in the trash can or toilet, so I looked there. Looked everywhere. Then, the thought occurred to me... "OH NO!!! HE PROBABLY TOOK IT WITH HIM TO PRESCHOOL!!!!!!"
I called the wife. She says that Jordan IN DEED took my Vic to daycare, but that she noticed he had it on the way in and took it from him! He's TWO and taking knives to school!
I sound very irresponsible here - I know - but I assure you all that I keep things up, and usually put my Vic and Flashlight on the table after Jordan is asleep, and I'm up and going before he wakes up. The coincidental events of today were both a learning experience for me, and a funny story to share.
Keep things put away, dads!
I'm ordering some Victorinox Bambinos right now for the boys
