I'm not getting rid of it, just making it more "chop worthy!" I'll still have the G-10 scales (reserve?) but want it more chop-comfortable.

Scales probably won't be interchangeable - at least they aren't between my Rangers - particularly on the satin models. I'm about to go to bed too, it seems. The wife had tonight off... Yeah, well 4 of them. I never got my buck though, at least not the big one. I did get close once we got snow. I tracked him down within 70 yards, I just could not get a shot.
