Anyone care to comment on how the double cut finish holds up to use? Thanks- It holds up fairly well. While it will never look new again, my ASH-1 SE survived some hard use and still looks pretty good. ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Busse/BusseSixInchers031.jpg)

I will be taking my yard hoook and DF out latter today. I figure cold weather chopping would be a great test of the DF strength.

Yeah bassists are pretty cheap. I still dont understand whats so special about Zildjian cymbals. ... stop breathing. (jk) they're only really a few great brands of cymblas and zildjian is one of them. if I had my choice, my drums alone would be about 3,000, and then probably another 1,000 worth of cymbals. right now, my 400$ drums with maybe 350 in cymbals and 2$ of duct tape will do.

Drummers and guitarists are all about sinking huge money in to their setups. I'm sure some bass players do as well - but I haven't met one who goes to the extent that the rest of the band does! I used to have a Pearl set w/ Zildjian/Sabian cymbals. Most of my cymbals were low-middle end, but I had a vintage Zildjian crash that sounded fantastic! I really wish I had that set back... The Zildjian is the crash on the right: ![[Linked Image from i163.photobucket.com]](http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t311/dzrice/Drums.jpg)

my friend plays bass and he has like 5 different ones, one of them, they're only 80 in the entire world. he loves it. but for the most part I think bassists don't care as much.
and that looks like a pretty nice kit dice. mine is set up so funny! like, if it were my choice I'd have a custom set with one rack tom and two floor toms, and my rack tom would be low, and right in front of the snare coming off my crash. so I took the bars that go into the bass and turned them inside out, so the longer end sticks out and I can put my one rack tom where my floor tom was (so it's like having two floor toms, setup wise) and my other rack tom in front of the snare.
and my snare... just about everyone on planet earth would say it sounds like crap, but it's how I like it... I turned the snare strings off and duct taped the midd of them the the snare head.. so I get a kind of ringy popping sound. and my rack tom is REALLY dead. 9thats how i like it) yeah... idk I guess I have weird taste. I have the cheap low end zildjian cymbal and hats the came with the kit (alot better than most crappy hunks of metal they call cymbals that come with sets) and a lowish end ziljian K 15" dark crash. I LOVE my drumkit, I'm very attached.
and this is kind of off topic but, my freind breaks like 3 crashes a year. zidjian and sabian heavy rock crashes. he's insane, one time he played at my church and broke the bass head, the snare head and a huge chunk of cymbal almost killed anyone upfront. he's insane.

Face - sounds like an interesting setup!
I've never broken a cymbal. I haven't played for years, though.
