Yeah, a tripod is an area where it just doesn't pay off to compromise much. Unfortunately, it's hard to get a great tripod; I'm not sure there are any tripods currently on the market, at any price, that I'd be really happy with, without needing to get custom work to fix various issues.

So true. That sad part is that the tripod manufacturers are touting poor design aspects as though they are features.

By the way, The Tripodulator is not intended to be great tripod. It's decent, but... its saving grace is that weighs nothing.

It is a compromise! I don't think you could have the perfect tripod that weighs in at nothing with today's technology.

Yes, that's true. It's a compromise. It could be done so that the compromise is surprisingly small, if the manufacturer is willing.
