I was amazed, on my recent trip to Florida, how much airline customer service quality has degenerated. Cross country flight and no meal? Not even a bag of peanuts? Trying to charge for headphones? Not letting people carry on standard sized carry-ons?
They might as well be sticking us in the cargo bay.
Gone are the days when they'd give you slippers, and bring a steaming towel to wash your face.
Few industries have raced to the bottom faster than the airline industry. It's now not much faster, nor more convenient, nor pleasant than other modes of transportation. Consequently, I've transitioned from flying perhaps 50 times per year, to flying just a few times per year.
