I always thought those graphing calculators were too complicated. Anything that needs a several hundred page instruction manual is too difficult. I used my BA II Plus myself for financial stuff. But, just today I found a TI-82 at Goodwill for $6. I'm gonna sell it for knife money.

Do people peel carrots for some reason that escapes me? I would think since its underground it wouldn't have a lot of pesticide or anything directly on it and that washing it would be enough

I think it’s because they can still taste a bit like dirt. Plus, they kind of dry out on the exterior in storage, so that exposes the fresher inside. When I was a kid, my favorite part of the raw carrot was the “heart”. I found out if I carefully ate around it like an ear of corn, I’d save the darker heart for last. It’s a lot juicier and sweeter than the outer part of the carrot.

Related note…the flower “Queen Anne’s Lace” is wild carrot. Next time you see one, bruise the stalk with your thumbnail and smell it…just like carrots.
