I don't think it was the popup blocker because for things like something pops up and asks me if I want to temperarily disable the pop up blocker.

But I got it now thanks though.

Though I still want to change the search engine in my address bar.

Tools>Internet Options
Under the General Tab under search click on settings
Then click on find more providers
It will open a window to let you choose Google
Then another window will open just check make this default (or something like that)

BTW This is for IE7 if you have another version it will still be similar
