So, I hear people talk about getting their knives "Banned". What do you do? Send your knives off to him and he modifies them for a fee?

OH? REALLY? *Head cocks to the side, with ears twitching* Does he have a website for his stuff? What's he gonna call his company? Where's he located out of? Pardon my keen interest, but when I hear of a new knife maker, I get very intrigued!

So very true; it's the guys like this that can bring to life what we personally see in the knives we buy, but lack the skills to make it a reality. I speak for myself especially, who sometimes has difficulty drawing a stick man!
Most especially on a Friday night with a bottle of Gibsons whiskey on the counter, and lots of ice and mix to go with it!

I don't want to speak for Ban, it's his personal business, but he has a very valid reason. Here's his prototype BT4 (Ban Tang, 4 inch blade). Not my pictures, it's chickenpluckers. ![[Linked Image from img.photobucket.com]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v302/MRpilot/IMG_0668.jpg) ![[Linked Image from img.photobucket.com]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v302/MRpilot/IMG_0666.jpg) His logo says "BANTANG", and if you flip the knife upside down, it still says it. He should be posting pictures of his BT6 soon. Keep in mind these are still prototypes, but having held it, the handle is so comfortable and the blade is well...banned!

Well....looks like I will have to sort out the ability to remove and re-attach the grips on my Skinny Ash then myself....easy with a milling machine....hard to justify the expense of getting one though for just your own infrequent use....but I want to fully finish a LE job on mine and it needs this to do so. You can ruin the grips drilling out the tube rivets if it is not done right and a milling machine would be the best option. Attaching them again is not so bad with the right bits....custom pins are actually easier than re-doing the tube rivets.
I am wondering if there was some "flack" from official sources which made the cessation of the Busse work needed? Whatever.....not my position to ask really...but his work is very admired....maybe the guarantee aspect for the life of the blade was relevant?
It would be interesting to see if Ban developed a similar steel to Infi for his blades?
