Do I count? Not a big dog in the area. And I have no idea what you've been hinting at in the last few messages. In the dark and used to it!
I was out earlier working on attaching my spearhead to a shaft. I found a nifty little tree to make an unusual but nice-feeling shaft. Haven't got it seated real well yet since it's so chunky. I think I'll have to shape the inside of the split to grasp the point better.

Beautiful work. I've never heard of grinding slate, as opposed to flintknapping obsidian/chert/etc. Fascinating. Why do you prefer grinding soft stones to knapping hard stones? By the way, did you see this thread? http://www.scrapyardknives.com/ubbthread...ge=0#Post212944
