48/45? Now that I have practiced hypermiling techniques, I have acheived a current max of 58.1 MPG over 22 miles. This is in light traffic and without the car having been broken in yet! I typically see 45-55 in Los Angeles traffic with casual use of "pulse & glide" (P&G) and "electric vehicle (EV) only" methods. If I put some additional focus, practice and technique into my driving, I am certain that I can average 60 MPG, or greater over the course of a day. Bear in mind that I am coming from a rather nasty 484 RWHP, 482 RWTQ SAE Cobra with both bark and bite off 91 octane. VP 103, 23 degrees and a lean 12.5:1 tune will take me to close to, or just above 500 RWHP on a cold night. The Prius is the exact polar opposite and I absolutely love it for that. Fast enough, but handles like a small boat. Coilovers and a subframe connecting system should allow me to take corners faster, thereby preserving braking energy. Driving the Prius with fuel economy (FE) in mind requires the practicing of accelerator pedal techniques and an understanding of how the hybrid system works. It really is fun to drive, to try and beat your last trip MPG . Highly recommended.

Anybody here own an '04 through '09 Prius and willing to split the cost of official Toyota service manuals in PDF? Purchased directly from Toyota, of course. Not the pared down, simpleton publications (Bentley, Chilton, Hayes) you see being advertised on eBay and elsewhere. I need official torque specs and load and wiring diagrams ...

diamonds aloft on velvet black
and diamonds below on grass a-crack.
the wind promises more to come
cold fire on all things
beautiful
but terrible for those without a home

Actually, sparkling frost. Hence the grass being a-crack: it crunches when you walk on it.

S'okay, I spent all of two minutes on the thing.

diamonds aloft (above) on velvet black (sky)
^ stars; in autumn here, "morning" is pitch black and the stars are still out

and diamonds below on grass a-crack (crackling)
^ frost

the wind promises more to come
cold fire on all things
^ more darkness (hence stars), and more frost, snow, ice. More sparkling.

beautiful
but terrible for those without a home

Yeah, I will rent it this weekend if it's available. Iron Man was cool, but I really do not like Robert Downey.

I agree, it was a good movie, but something about Robert Downey that just didn't seem right. I felt that The Incredible Hulk was better then Iron Man and Edward Norton fit the role great too.
