I just watched the end of the Sprint Cup race. After the checkered flag, Matt Kenseth slammed into AJ Almindinger, pretty obviously in retaliation for Almindinger having gotten into him near the end of the race. That retaliation caused a lot of cars to wreck, but other than one quick comment, the announces said nothing -- NASCAR needs to slap Matt Kenseth with some big penalties. There was a well publicized retaliatory incident last week. This behavior is starting to get out of hand, it endangers drivers who had nothing to do with the conflict, and may end up getting someone seriously injured or killed if nothing's done.
The lack of response by the commentators really surprised me. They were trying to wrap up coverage (to switch over to a poker tournament), but I thought that the incident was a pretty big deal.

I'm also waiting, and somewhat impatiently, for VetDayGanzaaa prices. There are a couple interesting items up for auction, but I'd like to know if I'm going to be dropping a bundle on INFI before deciding if I can afford to place a bid.

Another thing, does the Scrap Yard Internet response time seem to be increasing again? There are currently 18 registered and 14 anonymous users browsing this forum. When I submitted my last post, it took approx 10 seconds to submit, and then about 20 more seconds to redirect back to the thread, That's not terrible response time, but with so few users, I think it should probably be faster.

I don't edc any fixed blades but I definitely like my BAD. I like the slicing geometry. Thats one of the main reasons I like Spyderco's and don't carry any heavy folders anymore. If I need to pry something, I usually have a multitool and probably a crowbar.

I think I'm going to pick up a BAD the next time someone decides to offload a brand new one below cost over on the BFE. That has been happening fairly often lately. Then I'll get Jeff(Rainwalker) to make me up a nice leather pouch style sheath for it and I'll be good to go.

By the way, do any of you guys own a Busse BAD? I have been thinking about picking one up to put into my EDC fixed blade rotation. I have come close to buying an AD many times but I just felt they were too thick for EDC. It seems the BAD would be perfect. If any of you have one I would love to hear your impressions of the knife. I have a AD that I EDC on rotation, very nice little knive.

My current EDC is a prototype I got from Dan Koster. It has a neat little sheath that will slide into slacks when a belt knife isnt appropiate. This thing is a beast,.25 thick with a blade at only 3 inches long. Its the second fron right in this pic. ![[Linked Image from i353.photobucket.com]](http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r378/chickenplucker/IMG_0871.jpg)

That's why I don't; I carried a Swamp Warden for a few weeks, before my supervisor told me that someone had complained that I was carrying "a weapon". I still carry a Kershaw G10/combo-edged Leek; some people have commented about it, but I haven't been told I can't carry it (yet).
If told that I can't carry it either, I'll switch to either a mother-of-pearl Spyderco Kiwi or a Mcusta Take, both of which are non-assisted opening, "pretty" as opposed to tactical, and tiny enough to be sheeple-friendly. They still haven't figured out that if they must have fear, it should be of someone, not something. A knife isn't going to hurt anyone on it's own, but if somebody really wants to hurt another, there are plenty of things in the workplace that can be a weapon (including plain old bare-handed surprise and determination). Instead, they maintain an illusion of security based on whether or not someone is carrying a knife.
