I haven't had any problems with upkeep. Startlingly accurate is a great way to put it. My dad is very competetive so we went shooting last christmas when I was home and he wanted to have a little competition. He ran his Kimber and asked what I was going to shoot. I pulled out the P7 and gave him a spanking. Even people shooting it for the first time will lay'm in the X-ring all day long and just look at you with their mouth open <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

mine are P7 PSP's, police trade-in from CDNN. They are euro stype, with the mag release at the bottom instead of by the trigger guard, and they don't have the heat sheild. The magazines are not interchangeable, but the P7M8 mags might world in the PSP. PSP mags will definitely not work in the M8. The M8 has the heat shield for a reason. They gas tube gets mad hot after as little as 50 shots.

I saw a PSP for only $900 saturday. They had 2xPSP's and an M8. The P7M8 was $1200 or $1300. The only possible thing to not like about them is they are only 9mm and have low capacity for the width. Mine is almost exactly the same width as a glock but holds half as much ammo. I'm ok with the 9mm though. They will also run with the extractor completely missing if it breaks. The chamber looks kinda wicked but it is fluted to auto-extract with gas pressure. The chamber is also set back a lot further than most auto's, so you get a lot more barrel length out of the same length slide.

yeah the thing with HK is that most of their stuff are a bit overbuild for what they are. The feel of my USPc seen to back that up as well. I can probably bring it to hell and it would still work.

I don't really have a problem with the "only 9mm and low capacity at that". If you can't solve a personal dispute with 8 rounds of good quality 9mm hollow points, then you need a bigger gun or better aim, not more ammo. Some folks are prone to go out on the "Well what if there's ten of them?" route, in which case, you're probably screwed no matter what handgun you're carrying. The whole attraction of the P7 line is that they are very compact and easy to carry, meaning you're more likely to have it when you actually want it.

It really is a fantastic weapon. Easily outclasses the Glock(and everything else) in a controlled environment, but in the worst conditions I'll take the Glock every time.

too much could never be said about your weapon being user-servicable, and twice the capacity doesn't hurt anything.

I just "scored" a S&W 396 Night Guard in .44 Spl. Has a tritium front sight and a scandium alloy frame with stainless cylinder and barrel. While I like my Charter Arms Bulldog Pug, it just ain't a Smith. This new one shoots better for me. I know. Not very sexy or high tech, but darned sure effective. S&W sure was proud of it. Cost me over $800. It's a sweet shooter for a snubby. Only weighs about 22 oz. Recoil was not bad with the 200 gr Gold Dot hollow points loaded in the el cheapo Blazer rounds.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.
