I did not even know there was a Ruck AK. I like it better than the full one.
The proportions are better and it would be much more usefull for confined spaces and concealment. The katana's that are considered to be the toughest ever made are
forged by Howard Clark of S7. I know the reason his are so good is the heat treat
turns the steel to bainite which is very tough and springy. The really impressive thing he does is makes the edge martensite which is very hard and takes a razor edge. It would be interesting to put an INFI AK up against the S7 bainite/martinsite Clark katana. Another tough katana is the one I have which is way cheaper than even an Busse ruck a Cheness 9260. The cheness Shura or Tenchi
are through hardened unlike a traditional kat and are tougher than the same exact blade that is diferentially hardened. There are some great pics of the cheness eating a cement block but it does not take as big a bites as the DF.It is still pretty good for a 200$ sword.

Yep,

Big Ear makes some S Hot Bainite!!! Have you looked at the prices his creations command? [censored]! Did you see the video where he was whacking an anvil? Just Crazy!

I am not at the point where I need a high performance blade. If I did, I would be dropping 3 large!

A wakizashi or Roman Gladius in SR77 would be great! We need a sword, please.

I may be interested in a Roman Gladius. Hmmmm Gladiator combat...you might be onto something.

I figure he will throw a couple small runs here and there for us to play with and drool over . . .
I disagree Dave. If Dan's said it once, he's said it a dozen times . . . his business philosophy is to deliver the maximum possible performance at the minimum possible price. This is not a philosophy that lends itself well to small production runs.

That doesn't keep us from asking for one. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I think the SY sword should be a traditional katana. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I also like the traditional Celtic leaf shape design:

FYI, this is a Kris Cutlery Celtic Sword. Overall length is 27".

Ya, that's beautiful design too. Dan, whatever style you pick, please utilize the TRADITIONAL proportion. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Those leaf blades are more practical than you would think. The romans new what they were doing when they made the gladius. Some of the hottest blades on sword forum are the tactical versiopns of classics by Angus Trim. I want to see a 500$
INFI AK tested Cliff Stamp style against a Clark katana. Why did you call him "big ear"?

I agree. A straight Katana can be made with a minimum of material waste.

These blades are made by stock removal, not forging, the less material they throw away or grind off, the less it costs us.

The less it costs, the more Scrap Yard will sell. The more they sell, the more money Dan and Patti will make. The more money Dan and Patti will make, the more likely they will make it.

Please make it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

Arf arf arf... That's my other dog impression.

A waki is the same idea and would use less sr77. It'd be lighter and easier to carry round too.. (And for the zombie hunters out there it would be much easier to swing in buildings!)
