The Alaskan Super Redhawks are perfect to carry into bear county as a backup gun. I like the .454 Casull/.45 Colt version. Believe or not they don't kick as bad as you think due the weight of the gun.

maybe I'll just get the GP100 this year. .357 mag is just as good and I'll be able to feed it .38speical for cheaper practice <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

.454 Casual. Nice! I have pulled the trigger on a few and the longer brl's were not bad at all. The thing about the .454 is you can shoot the .45 Colt for practice and trigger control.

the 500 is sweet, but it's not worth the extra $400 to me.
