Here is me shooting a CZ 527 Kevlar Varmint in .223 Rem. I love that rifle, set trigger, free float, little p=dog shooter. I have shot several p=dogs at 400 yds with this rifle. Currently it needs a new brl because the accuracy is opening up big time. I lost count of rds through it after 8,000 and that was last p-dog season. Not sure what caliber I am going to do it in. Might make it a .204 Ruger. I was about 40 lbs heavier in that pic too. Man the camera makes me look fat LOL.

This was a .223 Rem 55 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip at about 400 yds. Notice the bullets quite exploding at that distance.

Jack Rabbit with .17 HMR at about 100 yds.

These are .223 Rem same load at a couple hundred yds, Notice it is like a grenade popped.

Another Jack Rabbit that was taken with a .223 Rem same load at about 150 yds

Badger that was taken at about a 100 yds wuth .223 Rem same load as above. Got him trying to sneak into the hole--he was trying to get a free meal from a p-dog that was popped.

Here is a couple more badgers that I got. The larger one was about 300 yds with a .243 Win 65 gr Hornady A-Max that was set-up for 450+ yds. Entrance wound, ribs and internals mush but no exit wound. I gave it to my friends kid that ended up skinning it and making himself a hat. I wish I would have thought of that. The smaller one was a .22-250, best pic I could get because there was a rattler making its way across the ground--no thank you.

Here is one that tried to make it back into it's hole.

Here is a double holer!

We are starting to see enough Prong Horn in the panhandle that they are issuing tags for them now. However, it is still cheaper to go out of state for one. I just happened to see these grazing.

Pheasent trying to get him a piece--nah, I spooked them and the bolted!

If you look real close you can see some dogs on top of the hills barking at me. Lets say they paid a price for that. From the fence to the tree line it is about 150 yds.

About 3-4 dogson tat large hill. That hill is zoomed in all the way and far end ranged about 575 yds. The building in the back is pig barns, needless to say no use to shoot if the wind is blowing actoss them.

Some idea of what flat land can look like.

Now, this area is about a 4 hr drive from me and a 3 hr drive from my Red Rock Canyon walk-about that I posted a few weeks ago. I am lucky to live in OK with so many different hunting and areas to explore.

I shot the carbine with 15 rd mag but he had some 20 rd and 30 rd. Kinda wicked looking! What is the deal on mag limits in NJ?

almost seems like the prairie dogs are more willing to explode everywhere than the others.

Kinda like here. So flat you can watch your dog run away for a week.

Flat-land entertainment? Get a pickup, some folding tables, some rifles, and a guy with a telescope, and shoot prairie dogs?

(I think I'll stick with hills and mountains and trees!)
