I'm pretty happy, I'll be a tad happier when the Dog Father eats frozen wood and says "Is this all you got?" . Hell, I'll be the happiest man alive if the 7" blade is next!

Finally, we all got bowies! I gotta tell you, I had fun hanging out last night, waiting for them to show up for sale. Left for an hour to watch "Supernatural", came back on,and... BOWIES!
Next on my list: A Leatherface sheath, as well as a LE Dog father. Is the Dogfather the "bowie" reffered here? Or is there another dog that got awaysssss?????????

Some will still complain... next year someone will be pissed they missed the DF by 12 months, and doesn't want to pay more than the release price.. or some dude who could only afford 1 DF will bitch'n-moan that he wanted two and its not fair... thats just how some people work...

I had a great time. It was just like Extravaganzaaa only better 'cause this time I scored!
Ordering the Dog Father is a bitter-sweet experience for me. I am excited because I expect this to be the best chopper I have ever seen. But I am saddened because it may well replace the Battle Rat as my all time favorite knife. I love my BR and it would sadden me no end to see it sitting on a shelf instead of playing outdoors where it belongs.
So, I am confused. However, I did not let the confusion stop me from ordering two of them!

As I already knew, the DF has been around long enough that anyone who wanted one could get it. When the DF goes off the sale, you will still get complainers who did not get in on it whining about it.

Cobalt - That is EXACTLY why I urged everybody who wants a great chopper to get a DogFather. Even though I won one in the naming contest, if I did not think it was the terrific blade that it is I would not have supported it as strongly as I do - good or bad, I tell it like it is!!! I still strongly recommend that if anyone is looking for a GREAT chopper - get a DogFather! It WILL make you smile!! Tom

There is no avoiding sour grapes.
A year ago I was complaining that I couldn't order a Camp Tramp (not very loudly).
As for replacing a Battle Rat, I think the Dog Father might just have gone past the optimum size and heft for a chopper while the Battle Rat is just about perfect.
I'm sure you will find time for both.
Arf arf arf... That's my other dog impression.

Funny, that is my only complaint of the battlerat, is it's size, it's not long enough IMO. The DF is just rigt for me. Different strokes for different folkes.
