I'm an unemployed bum. At least for the next two weeks anyway.
My last week was wonderful. I got to see one of my students, a sixth grader get busted for pot. It was pretty much the highlight of the week. The best part was when he was read his rights by our school police officer and he started tearing up and crying. Then our school police officer, a scarry woman looks at the kid and says "Crying, there's no crying in middle school." It was classic.
So I'm off until the end of the month. Nothing to do but fish, shoot, and play with my dog (father).

My friend teaches 6th grade and so far in 3 years, she has had 2 girls with children!!!!!
Jerry, enjoy your time off!! I took a year and a half off......drove me MAD...that explains alot.

If it was my kid, reading the rights would be the least of his worries. can't they wait until high school. We also have a 7th grader who's shooting drugs and dealing. An 8th grade girl whose got a kid and admittedly pulls tricks at night to make money. There are a few more who are worse off than those two, and a lot who aren't as bad, but are on their way.

TKC, I hope you enjoy every moment of your time off!! yeah Jerry, I second that! Hope you & the missus enjoy the break.. and/or the knives & guns.. LOL. Me & my wife like to hit the popular joints during weekdays.. skip the crowds. There are some popular restaurants that are PACKED on Fri,Sat,Sun.. but on a Wed we get the whole place to ourselves <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Anyways.. enjoy bro.

Yeah, a lot of these kids are pretty messed up. The real tragedy is that they think dealing/doing drugs, prostuting at 13/14 etc..., is pretty glamouous.
However, on the plus side the wife and I just got back from the local boatshow. We even agreed on our next boat purchase. It's big enough to dive off of, small enough to fish off of. Now we just have to pay off the credit cards.
