Reverse grip is how you run with a knife safely.
If I have to do that I always hold it in a way that I can throw it away from me in case I trip.
A little related story I never told you guys…when I was a kid my actions ended up causing knives to be banned at my school. When I was 6 or 7 I brought one of my pocket knives to school for show and tell. It was before classes started, and I was sitting on some chairs about 50’ inside the front doors. As I was bored waiting for class to start, I was admiring & fondling my knife with the blade open. I looked up and saw my cousin (who was my age and also a student) come in the doors. I ran over to greet her, forgetting about the opened knife in my hand. There were some parents about who witnessed this, and scared the $h!t out of them as they were afraid I’d trip and fall on it. After that, they said we couldn’t bring knives to school anymore. Most of us snuck and did it anyway though. No metal detectors or patdowns in those days.
