I'm glad you survived your trip to the city.

There have been a few popping up again in the last week.. Grr...

Just got back from another trip to the city. Stocked up on groceries and picked up a new basic bbq to replace my old rusted hulk.

Was a fun drive in... There was an odd knocking sound from the rear end, got the "Oh, that started a while ago but I didn't think it was anything" comment from the wife. Doing about 70 or 75 mph, went to slow down for a rest stop and the brake pedal went to the floor.

Tons of fun it was!

LOL Im sorry but i think we have all been there..lol

Yup.. End result was that the exhaust pipe clamp between the muffler and resonator had rusted through and gave away on our stunning roads up here. The thumping was the loose resonator and pipe hitting stuff. The stupid design of the exhaust pipe put the pipe junction at the middle of the upward pipe that routes the exhaust over the rear axle. Hot exhaust was blasting into the floor of my pathfinder and directly over the rubber rear brake line...

Good news was that the dealership only wanted 800 or 900 in parts and then several hundred more in labour to fix it!

Uh oh, it's going to be cloudy in all the mountains within a day's drive, all weekend. I might cancel plans to go on a trip.

shared a car with my sis a long time ago. every time i got the car from her i noticed some kind of change in the performance. small weird things... i rode with her a few times and i realized why. she was a extremely aggressive driver and really worked the car every time she got behind the wheel. my mom is the same way and i always have to ask her if she realizes that she is right on the bumper of the car in front of her. kinda like how women will mow down a 6'2 200 pound man in a department store during christmas shopping season.

Jeepers! That's an expensive fix.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Yeah. Managed to fix it just fine myself for about $25 in parts. So as far as I am concerned I have $975 in mad money for some other stuff I have been needing now.

Got a couple funny looks in the parking lot of one of the stores in town though.
