Can't believe I'm this excited about getting to Mutt status, considering some of you folks have 10-11 THOUSAND PLUS posts. Oh well at least I'm no longer a pooch even though I got one above my belt! Morning gents. I'm currently trying to decide what to do for sheaths for all the knives I picked up at BLADE. Mainly trying to decide between kydex and leather for each of them.

The only guy I've found who has a HS to mold kydex wants 50 bucks for a sheath - that's pretty pricey for a knife less than 4 inches long. On the other end of the extreme, leather for the killa z would be beautiful but crazy expensive. In the middle knives, David Brown will give me a good deal on kydex, and I like his sheaths quite a lot, but I can get leather for not a whole lot more money.

Decisions, decisions... any thoughts???

MM-I like the leather sheaths or condura, the kydex ride too high.

Ride height isn't much of an issue - it's easy to rig a drop loop to a kydex sheath and make it ride whatever height you want.

That's actually what I like most about kydex - its versatility.

Leather is nice because it's softer and more flexible so can often be less noticeable.

I didn't know you could rig a drop loop to kydex to make it ride lower. Thats why I'm not a big fan of the kydex pistol holsters, they ride way too high for me.

Kydex drop loop Rainwalker style in place of a Tek-lok.

I would go with one of Dave Brown's exposed spine kydex sheaths fro the Zilla for sure.

It's actually already got tons of scratches on it, and I've barely taken it out of the cardboard sleeve. I think that's the universe's way of telling me there's no chance this thing will stay pretty.
