I like the stone knife, I would put it in my collection and show it off!

I've thought about selling these on occasion. Not this style necessarily, just slate knives in general. I would have to make very clear however, that they are hand-ground and exhibit all the same level of technological sophistication as your average stone-age tribe... not cranked out by some dollar-a-day Chinese guy with a belt sander. I take pride in the fact that the only "cheating" I employ to make these is to buy slate instead of hacking it out of the ground myself. My ego is so fragile however, that if nobody wanted to buy them for more than a couple bucks (either because "well it's a nice...piece of stone" or because "what good is this, anyway?"), I'd probably stop making them. Not one of my favorite aspects of myself. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Oddly enough, it appears that the largest market for slate knives is neopagans. They don't like to use steel for their athames :P (ceremonial daggers)

Birch bark and pine bark. I'll find out once it's fully dried how sturdy (or not) it is.

I can understand that. As a kid growing up my grandfather, father, and I looked for arrowheads and other artifacts. I have a few knives that we found over the years at my dad's house. I will try to take some pics soon and post them.

That figures about the Vex. What was the Rat line that was mentioned for Blade, the Waki and Vex?

How does the Vex compare to the HC in size?

Well I just sold the Stretch II in like .5 seconds.

Well, 15 minutes. I had no clue these things were so desirable.

Hey whateva, it just bought me my S5.

Enjoy every sandwich.

What is a good multi-tool? A local knife shop has a Leatherman Wave for 50, some other one for 40, and a Swiss Army one for a 100. My old Gerber from the early 90's needs to be replaced and the SOG version that I had is now with my brother some 900 miles away.
