As much as I like the zen of hand sharpening, after my BLADE haul I HAVE been eying that cheap harbor freight belt sander... for 40 bucks that could save me a lot of time considering the number of knives I have with the crappy Busse standard ultra-wide edge on them.

Belt sanders are great for convex and v grind sharpening. Money well spent imho.

Having a belt sander makes you way more willing to use your knives knowing it won't be a battle to get them sharp again.

i haven't had much use from most of my busses. i always go to the FBM so i have no clue if some of the edges are any good.
fbm's was great though. been reprofiled since. competition grade hell razor and sarQ had nice edges.
sar5 never got used before i sold it. skinny ash is also virgin. the old fatty mistresses were as well.
