Hi
Can anyone recommend a book ,dvd etc that would help me improve my knife sharpening I can turn out a reasonable working edge but seem to cause a lot of scratches and burrs elsewhere I don't want to mark up a quality blade once I get one
Cheers

The best hundred bucks ever spent in our home. I have no talent for any sharpening at all. I can't even sharpen my wits with a encyclopedia! Flawless method of sharpening. Re-profiling to stropping the Edge Select 120 does it all.
Every blade in our home pops hair because of it,not me!
I listened to all the methods, I tried most of them. I have NO patience or talent at all for this activity. I now have no concern ever about sharpening.

I wish you luck.

Peace.

I like the Lansky especially for beginners. I used it to put a whicked edge on my SS4 last night.I also find it usefull for knifemaking as I can get my edges a lot better and straighter. You may find yourself not using it as much when you get better at it butyou will still find the stones usefull. The diamond one is the best.

I swear by (not at) my Lansky kit too.. Just get the basic boxed Lansky and always put a bit of fabric in the clamp to protect the black epoxy finish on the yard knives. Get the Lansky from Heinnie Hayes in the UK, the guys there are pretty good and the mail order is lightning quick and totally reliable.. (top blokes!)
