Is there really that huge of a difference in the 2 steels? Though passions run deep on this, I bet a metallurgist would be the only one that could appropriately answer this question. Is it worth the cost seems to be the question of the day. It got my curiosity up just because there are about a dozen or so super steels out now they all almost seem to run together in the chop-off results.

Yes, there IS a huge difference - usually several hundred dollars
Can I just +10 this, or is that cheating the commentary that is sure to follow?

Without knowing the exact composition of either or the treatments of either, we have to leave it to empirical, subjective data, chopoffs, etc. There have been many threads on this topic alone.

Have you checked out knifetests.com? The Bussekin knives generally outperform the others in his tests.

Blood spills when that subject line pops up.

I am having Rainwalker make me a sheath for the Chopweiler. I am really excited about it, but it sounds like it is a LONG wait. Yet another patience test for me

Yeah, I ordered a few sheaths from Jeff, too - not expecting those any time soon
I actually have duplicates of a few sheaths for some of my knives, mostly in the EDC-sized sheaths. Those tend to be generic enough that they will fit multiple knives, so I'm sure I will get use out of them one way or another.

Rainwalker is an artiste. They are a perfect complement to these robust blades.
