I recently had an interaction with a LEO who spotted my knife pocket clip, when i was in my local knife purveyor.
"thats a big knife, whats your intent with it?" he asked, as he asked to see the knife (off the record, not on duty) .
I replied that my intent was to cut cardboard, wood , and anything else that i need to cut or whittle during the course of the day. "oh, okay, because one might say that with a knife like that you are going to kill someone with it" he said.
I replied that I would'nt dream of using a custom ground, low serial number Emerson Super Commander to kill someone, as such an violent act creates a lot of blood, is messy (clean up) , a potential health risk (blood borne pathogens) to me and not what my knife is intended for. Then i stated that if i ever had to kill a man, that i would rather use my bare hands and enjoy it. He handed me back my knife and said "i can respect that, and fully understand it"
ever since then most of the LEO's that know him leave me alone and i have'nt had a knife stop since then.
