Arg, too many NMSFNO's are going up for sale too frequently on Bladeforums - how am I supposed to unload mine for a profit after its pitiful performance in my chopoff????

Guess I might just have to sharpen it up and give 'er another whack...

I definitely was noticing this trend. I wonder if its just profit-taking, or if a statistically variant percentage of people like you are unhappy with the performance of the blade?

NMSFNO is among the best Busse blades.

I agree 100%. All it or any Busse-made knife needs is a good edge.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I need a crash axe...

This reminds me: I'll be responding to you all on this subject, after I get back from my trip, Monday night ... or maybe Tuesday or Wednesday.

Patience....

Evening fellas - it looks like I might have broken my thumb today. We'll see how it feels tomorrow and then go for an x-ray if it's still hurting like it does now.

My guess is profit taking. It's a great blade and will someday be a classic.

MM, you need to sharpen your NMSFNO if it is not performing well for you. The edge condition coming from the Busse shop can be hit or miss. Almost all of mine arrive nice and sharp but once in awhile...

It seemed like it wasn't just the edge - the coating seems particularly "sticky" when batoning or going deep. Lots of wood and sap stuck to that blade, and was much harder to get off compared to every other coated knife I own. I still haven't gotten all the crud off of it since my chopoff.
