if i was dan, i'd be a little put off by this thread.

change the title to "can't wait" and change the body to "...for tomorrow's release!!"

I do understand where ya coming from bro,no matter how a great a price it is , it is still about $50 over what i can afford and that is even with pulling out all the stops !!!
If I'm honest though the DogFather is much larger than what I would be happy to carry around so although I'm disappointed that I will not be getting a Scrapyard blade for crimbo it is not just down to the cost !!!

Pitman +1, the DF is a monster and just a little too big to carry around on the hills. Roll on the S7.. But I may go look for a remainder DFLE early Thursday morning UK time..

actually, i dont mind carrying a big knife, because when i am carrying a fixed blade, I am going to be doing some serious chopping, like taking down small trees, i know i am teling myslef i dont need it and it doesn't feel like i need it, but chopping down small trees with my machette is murder on my hands, i can almost feel the res-c right now.

i think i might see what my mom says about the DFLE, maybe she can get it for me.

Good luck mate, DF's (got a CG) are monstrous good choppers.. super comfy to use and one DF will go thru wood like 100 really annoyed beavers! Just a bit too big and heavy for humping around on the hills though... (but the DFLE could fix the weight problem!)

I guess I must have asked you before(it's my age !)but what hills do you hump your knives around ? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />
I am British and have lived in Canada less than 2 years, I used to do a lot of hiking in the UK so I was just curious as to where you hike !

Pitman, mainly Lake District, Peak District and Snowdonia. I love Hellvelyn for it's ruggedness, Blencathra because even though it's little it's a sod to get up (so always rewarding!), Snowdon as you can buy a cuppa on the top and while nothing leaps out in the Peak District, it's handy!

Of course in this country as you may remember, walking around with a knife even in the wilds is frowned upon.. (I'm prepared- not a ruddy murderer you muppet sheeple!) So I am collecting smaller knives these days, which is why I'll spend the money on a stainless Bravo 1 next year rather than the DFLE tonight.. I will get a tan S7 though! Maybe even an S9 but not so sure of that. But whatever it is, it goes in the daysack not on the hip. (The SS4 has 'tucked-inside-jacket' privileges though!)

So where did you like mate?
