isn't a SOCOM about 2,000 at the most? like around the 1500$ range?

best I ever found was $1475 + s&h + ffl for the socom 16, and for the socom II was generaly $1850 or more.

and the EBR kits runn about $600 alone iirc

I played around with the socom II, but it was just a bit nose heavy for me. I had wanted a scout M1A since they came out, maybe 10-12 years ago, but it never worked out.
I chose the original socom due to the superior compensator, and the shorter length, compared to the scout M1A. It is just a bit shorter than an M4, but with the power of a .308. It is the gun Neville should have been toting around.

hey, I don't get page 32 of the xd manual regarding sight picture, are they saying to aim low or somthing?
I'm confused with this whole 6 o clock sight picture thing.

To quote the manual...
Quote
Point of Impact
Shooters may use a “point of aim” sight picture at
25 yards. This means that, at 25 yards the bullet should
impact the target at the point visible at the top of the
front sight. Shooters may also use a “6 o’clock” sight
picture to strike the center of the target. Springfield
Armory pistols are designed to use the “6 o’clock” sight
picture at 25 yards. However, some pistols may shoot
“point of aim” at 25 yards depending on shooter and
ammunition.
Note: Use only clean, dry, original, high-quality,
commercially manufactured ammunition.

I can't seem to copy the pictures to show everbody, but the link to the
page is the "XD MANUAL" http://www.springfield-armory.com/custom.php

To my understanding the basic idea is to aim (align your sights)just below your inted target. or in simple-man terms "the gun shoots a little high, so aim a little lower"

dose that help?

yes, thanks, that might help if you consider recoil too.
just wondering.
I really want one of these, until i can get a nice kimber 1911, it should make a great gun, I LOVE the sub compact.

Good call the XD will bring happiness to you. I think leatherface has the sub compact in 9mm.

is it common and easy to buy?
cause thats what I will probably go with. (when I FINALLY get one)

I read that its not that easy to find and kind of expensive, and that a 10mm is a harder hitting round, even though the .40 packs a good punch...
but I just read that in like the past 3 minutes so...
idk
