The knife is actually more useful as a camp knife without the swedge.

I thought I caught a glimpse on the TV tonight of Bear cutting some eye holes in a hat in the desert somewhere with the "Bear Knife" that Vic has - I wanted to sit down and watch, but didn't get a chance. My last final exam is tomorrow - so I'm cramming, and we had my sister over for an "early Christmas" dinner and gifts before she leaves for Christmas break. She got Jordan a little "Finding Nemo" Christmas tree ornament. The first thing he did was try and rip one of the fish off of it!

Not to Hijack, Vic, but I figured that since I'd mentioned it, I'd show the proof!

That swedge looks fantastic. I am shocked at those of you who only bought 1 DFLE much less those who unbelievably did not buy one at all. I bought 4 and I am thinking I should have picked up a couple more! I am more of a Norse pagan but I have a lot of respect for the Christians on the board and something from the bible about "if you don't have a sword sell your cloak and buy one" seems appropriate in this case. Look how long we were waiting for it and it will never ever be back again.

Love the ODIN LIVES sticker on your Mule Vic. I have to get one for the front of my Kawi quad. My buddy sells the Mules and says they are a great piece of kit. It bugs me they are not street legal. They are in most places in the world but here the car companies paid off enough bureaucrats to stop it. They would make a great second car. Would you rather your kid drove a Mule with a rollcage a helmet and a top speed of around 70KM's or some old beater car? Plus the gas and enviromental advantages of a 700CC motor.

Unsub - I'd love to have gotten multiples BUT, I'd rather have one (that I can never wear out!) and snag an ASH1 and RC4 as well. I'm honestly a bigger fan of the CG (well, CG's in general - the full height grind may change my mind) and only got a DFLE because the price WAS SO GOOOD!!!! I'll be getting multiple CGDF's when they come back again, though.

Actually, at this point, I think I should have bought 2. Why didn't I? I was soo excited they were still in stock when I got hi=ome, I didnt think. I just ordered as fast as I could.
Plus, my DMLE still does not have any dust on it. Either does my ratwardens, or my ratchopper. Plenty of my money has gone to Family Busse recently.

I was going to get one, was actually thinking of staying up till 5am to buy one, but my finances are just too stretched, so hopefully i'll be able to pick one up from one of the dogs on the forum. If they are still up after i've paid for my vacation and bought the Christmas gifts, then i'll get one..... so i'm keeping my fingers crossed that they stay on the website till about the 26th .... i doubt they will .... but i'm hoping ..... i think it looks like an awesome blade, and i don't have a CG so this LE is a must have .... but we'll have to see how things work out.

Why even have a knife, if you can't use it?
Why even have a coin if you can't spend it or a postage stamp if you can't send mail with it? But would you care to guess how many numismatists and philatelists there are in the world?

Some people like to collect knives. Others invest in them. Contrary to popular opinion, purchasing knives for either of those reasons is just as legitimate as buying knives to use them.

I'm glad you don't use them, Bruce. That way some of us can get discontinued like-new models from collectors like you. Then we can beat them up! Some of my knives have sat for years without use. But all my Busses have been used. I have some daggers and WWII knives that will likely never see use. But choppers and survival knives? They're fun to test and use.
