Finished mopping the kitchen floor, (the last of my honey do's), the master of the house, and aspiring hedonist, me, sits down in the family room with a glass of his favorite wine, a few sugar-free Oreos and some Ramsey Lewis on the stereo. I will be a hedonist until my wife returns from the grocery store.

As I think about it, can a guy with honey do's be the master of his domain? Can a common servant be a hedonist too? Such a vexing conundrum.

I'll have to ponder this later, she's back.

My Jeep cab is my only domain. Between my wife, kids, dog and cat, my humble home is no domain of mine.

I have a little nook in my basement that is still sort of mine. The wife and kids are encroaching closer and closer.


You can see the toys and board games coming, threatening to take away the 5x5 area that is still mine! I won't go down with out a fight!

I have my man cave aka Manurary. Every now and again I get attempts at intrusion, with the holiday season. A decoration here and maybe a decoration there and before I know it she's taken over and my wall of guns is gone. So I pretty much don't allow any of her crap what so ever there.

I WISH I had some area to myself. This summer when we were house hunting we were looking at a place that had a sunken living room. So correspondingly, there was an area of the basement under the living room that was only about 4 feet high. They were using it as storage. I called dibs and said I would make that my man room. Just get some mechanic's wheeled coaster things and slide around.

unfortunately we didn't end up in that house.

but then again, the house we ended up in led to me finding the yard, so it all worked out in the end.
