I am surprised by how much everyone likes the SharkDog considering how unpopular the Guards were because of the recurves? Just from the way the Camp Tramp is considered a much more desirable knife just for not having the recurve you would think the Sharkdog would also be under appreciated. I like recurves myself. I got the Hook and love it as well! DF is still head and shoulders above my other Scrappers - which are a couple CG Mutts, MOD, DFLE, and Hook. I don't really like the recurves as much though - but I don't dislike them either.

Mac - I EDC'd my CG Mutt and RD4 for several months. Bruce - always wise and to the point - kind of called me out about them being on the "large side" for EDC. At the time I thought "nah - always good to have a worst-case scenario knife on me." But, now I think that he was right. I keep a Mutt or RAT5 or RD in my vehicle now, and EDC a folder (Spydie Manix or Cara Cara), SAK (Vic Soldier or Swisstool), or small fixed blade (Swamp Warden, RC3, RAT3). Usually a combination of 2-3.
It all comes down to personal preference, but mine has evolved over the past year or so. Largely due to my personal discovery of Victorinox and Spyderco.

I do agree with you Bruce I am a thirstin Dog and all SYKCO blades seem great when the wait is long enough! I understand, ZeroNine. Believe me, I do. Imagine how I feel when the only thing I buy from Scrap Yard are CG knives and Dan hasn't released one of those since April. The #7 Mod was the first non-CG SYKCO I have purchased. I am not into the LE's. LEs seem to go against the grain of the company mission statement IMO.

Face - I felt the same way... Its not something that is easy to explain to the "average person." Now I usually carry a large folder and a small folder, or a small fixed blade and a folder, or a SAK and a large folder. In addition to that, I usually wear my Swisstool when I go more then a few blocks from home. I can easily justify carrying a smaller and larger knife - the smaller knife only being in my pocket so that I have something "sheeple friendly" to use in public.

I may pick up a Buck Hartsook for a little keychain knife for opening packages etc. I wore my little Strider ED neck knife for a while and it worked great until the sheath let go in line at the grocery store and the knife fell out of my shirt and clattered to the floor. The Swarden makes a great fixed EDC. I wore a SS4 for a while but it is a bit big especially the handle.
I itend to EDC my DFLE so I am going to need a little companion knife for chores to small fr the DF and also to not scare the crap out of the sheeple.

Sharpening the serrations shouldn't be too much of a chore. Sal explains how to do it in the Sharpmaker instructional video. Basically, you sharpen the 'back' side of the serrations, very lightly.
