Nice pix! Looks like you guys found a dead tree to chop on at some point!

By the way - I've had the same observation as you've mentioned in other threads about the RD handle hurting your hand from the pommel shape. Its a great handle on the smaller and medium RD's, but doesn't match the comfort of ResC when chopping, huh?

yeah, for chopping its pretty uncomfortable, I'm sure a good pair of gloves would help though.

and yeah we chopped that one tree down the one the DFLE is in, but I didn't get a pic. (if thats what you meant be dead tree)

it was pretty fun. =]

I was talking about the 4th pic from the bottom - looks like a dead standing tree, which is all I ever chop down, personally! Not that I'm a tree hugger by any means, but my DF and I would clear cut forests if I allowed it to take on live trees!

I'm still trying to figure out a remedy for the Ranger handle when chopping. Gloves are good. I've thought about having Justin round off that part of the pommel that comes in contact w/ your hand, as well. I've also thought about putting a rubber sleeve of some kind over the grip? My RD7 is my favorite 7" knife, and I love the RD handle on it - but my RD9 bites my hand a little...

chop chop chop, all day long
chop chop chop while i sing this song.

i also steer clear of live trees. won't burn and i use a tent for shelter. never had to make a bow, either.
