Add a few more bucks and get a Charge, I like it better than the Wave myself. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Me too. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

25 year warranty
Funny I bought a knife with a 25 year warranity.
Still have the knife but the warranty expired last year.
F*&k I am getting old.
I have an old leatherman PST 2, how do the newer leathermen compare

I too have a few Leathermans with expired or expiring warranties.

The main thing I like better about the newer stuff is the locking blades on most of the tools. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I used to always hate how the screwdrivers would fold up on me at the worst times on the older Leathermans. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

I sent it back today, but I decided to try out the screwdriver feature. I did both the phillips and the flat and twisted until it was beyond tight........... It held up very well.

The PST II is what I had before I got my Ti Charge (which is an upgraded Wave). I highly recommend the Charge or Wave. It is much better than the PST II. Get the one with the bit driver. It’s very useful and allows you to work on a lot more stuff. I also got the optional bit kit on eBay.

I have the surge too, the black oxidized model; pretty heavy and strong.

They make high speed drill bits which are seated in hex bits. They are meant for powered screwdrivers with a dedicated hex socket, instead of a chuck. I’ve never had any interest in the things, since small bits break. A lot. Regular high speed drill bits are cheap to replace. These hex footed bits are way more expensive.

I realized today that I can fit these hex-footed drill bits into the Leatherman bit extension. Neat. They don’t weigh much, and you never can tell when you might want to drill a hole in an emergency. I’m going to add a few to the vials of nails, screws, and eye-screws in my various kits.

Good choice! That's my current EDC. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

You can get all sorts of different saw blades to fit that! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I always carry several different ones! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
