just think about how fast the long awaited yard skelly will go. if it's around the 40 price point it will be a 15 minute knife. Either I hope dan makes a million of them, or they do some sort of limit per person for the first day thing.

Holy CRAP!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" />

I had to leave around 3:30 and couldn't get back to my computer till a few minutes ago and they are all gone. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />

I was going to get a hat too. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

.... I guess I was too comfortable with how long the DFLE lasted or something. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> I thought there would be some available still.

The HOGS must have been picking them up 10-20 at a time or something.

This type of release thing is very frustrating when you miss by an hour or two and you are S.O.L.

There goes my evening... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Thanks. We'll see what happens.
I am not too terribly distressed. I "Shouldn't" be spending the money right now, but I don't know how else I could have gotten in on a $5.00 hat. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> (???).

I actually already have quite a few toys to hold me and I didn't really need to spend more money - money is very tight right now. I already have:

Yard-Keeper LE,
Howler 2nd Gen (Stripped),
HRLM,
SS4,
Bog Dog
That are all similar in size.

And I also have:
Rat Warden
DM stripped
RMD
and many others that are close.

So, I am not hurtin' for knives in this size range.

But, I kind of felt like this should be in my Scrap Yard drawer and I really felt like a Yard Keeper LE would get a lot of use.
I honestly feel the choil on the 2nd Gen Howler is to large. Too long - not too deep. I actually like the Yard Keeper more than the Howler. Although, the HRLM is VERY nice. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I was actually planning on buying 2 and I was thinking about trying to re-create a satin non-mudder version of this Spear-Point concept that I photo-chopped.:

[Linked Image from i80.photobucket.com]

I think the mudder handles are sexier and feel great in my hand, but the little Res-C is more compact and very functional. I can reshape the Res-C to fit my hand a little better and it feels very good.

We'll see what happens... ???

.

I don't think you have anything to worry about KG. You are a real popular guy around here and I personally love your posts. They make mine look short and to the point <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I am really looking forward to this slice monster. Full height grind and 3/16th in a nice wide howler blade is going to rock so darn hard.

It may even be a good companion for my DFLE? It will definitly be the Yards first S7 hunting knife(the SS4 is an excellent hunter as well).

For a knife I was not originally gong to buy(before I knew it was 3/16th)I am pretty stoked.

Is it just me or does this release seem really fast and out of the blue?

Wow!!!!!!!

Thats got to be a record!!!!!!!!

Congrats to those who scored <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I believe you are right. When Patti yelled from her office that they were gone I could not believe it and I actually thought she was pulling my leg. I realized it was true when she walked passed me to go and open a bottle of wine...she never leaves her desk to drink..... completely unlike me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

This blade surely has a following.

Enjoy

Dan

Hahaha! We told you a 3/16" thick YK would be popular! Who could have guessed it would be THAT popular?

Your insight was amazing...who knew....thanks

Dan

Can you do me a favour?
I am looking at buying one of the YKLE off of Private Klink in a bit.
When you have both styles do a side by side comparison on them
I would really like to see hope they compare against each other

WOW!!! 7:30 Central Time.

I was at work and just got home! Too late! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

That was WAY FAST!!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

Thank God for the secondary market. At least I can score one there in a few weeks! I am glad for those "proxy buyers" who are of course entitled to a small profit for their efforts. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Sorry I missed out on my 3XL T-Shirt for $5.00 bucks though.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

Peace.

No problem CoyoteBC, but it will take quite a while to get here. My DFLE has not shown yet so it could be some time.

Being 3/16th thick should make quite a bit of difference compared to the tank that is the YKLE. They won't look that different unless viewed from above to show the spines. The feel of the 2 should be quite drastically different though. I am really looking forward to trying out the new one. I love 3/16th Busse blades. I find the thicker ones usually don't cut well enough. A few of us like Vic and Brian thinned down the edges on the YKLE enough to get them to slice but the geometry on this one has a serious advantage. It is not like S7 needs to be thick to be strong anyway.
