Elderly women with all her faculties missing.
She set out to check her mail around 6pm and go for a walk.

I got called at midnight, missing 6 hrs , cops found nothing.

Set out with my squad at 12:30.

Found her body at 1:00 am.

 No signs of foul play.

Moral of the story, elderly family should be watched. DONT WAIT! to call police. 2.5 hrs over due is rediculous before calling police.

 B) Police are not SAR if you are dissatisfied with their efforts demand pros be called in immediately. Took us 30 ins to find her. She may be alive today if it had been done in a timely fashion.

That really does suck.I am impressed that your team got to her in 30 minutes, not impressed that it took them til midnight to get you in action.

I take it this was in a "woodsy" area where she went for a walk, was it a hard fall or the elements that got to her?

man that bites. must be rough for it to end like that. how often does it end that way?
Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms should be a convenience store, not a Government Agency.

She went missing in a residential setting with several urban green spaces nearby. WE were the first squad in and got tasked to start 100 yrds from where we found her.
Not all luck as search areas are precalculated and planned. Due to her age we knew she wouldnt be far. The speed in which we found her is very atypical for a search.

By the look of her it was either cardiac or elements AKA hypothermia. A young person would have fared fine but when you are this old this kind of temp and moisture can kill easily.

Cant help but think cases like this we could of pulled her out breathing if called sooner. Its cases like this that weigh on me.

I do it because I love the process and the activity. Its a great excuse to get outside and be active.

The thrill of making a live find is beyond description.

 A deceased find is troublesome.

Take the good and the bad. I take some solice in knowing I returned remains to the family so they can have closure. Even so their faces stick with you.
