Since I'm gunless at the moment, I like to at least travel with a large fixed blade. Me & the family (wife & 1 year old daughter) traveled down to visit my mom & her boyfriend this past weekend. It was around 11:30 Saturday night when we hear someone beating on the door. My mom freaks out & yells "don't answer it" and goes to wake her boyfriend up. I go to the bedroom unsheath the S6 and ask (through closed door)"who's there" with M6 in hand. Guy had fallen in the woods and hurt his ankle. We communicated through the door and called a friend of his to come and get him. It took them almost an hour, the whole time he was sitting/laying on mom's porch, occasionally asking us to call again or call someone else.
There used to be a 28" Mossberg 500 12gauge by the back door, but my Mom's boyfriend had just moved it into the bedroom, so if I'd have gone looking for it, I wouldn't have found it. All the rest of his guns are locked in the safe.
This had a peaceful and happy ending, but it just reminds me that it's always a good idea to travel with at least a large fixed blade and/or a handgun and take it in with you instead of leaving it in the car. Now where is my DogFather:)

GregB, well, you did the right thing.. not letting the guy in, had knife in hand. Good head on your shoulders.. glad everything worked out.
I carry my Glock .40 with me every where. Out in the sticks, it's nice to have a carbine/rifle nearby too.

In this country only the criminals have guns- and if you do manage to get the drop on a burglar and you beat the snot out of him you get charged.. If a burglar hurts himself in your home (ie trips over a coffee table) during the commision of a crime they can sue you for negligence! We have kids blowing each other away all over London (ok, "no humans involved" but even so it's kind of crazy!) and the politicians are wondering what's going wrong?? Unarmed police who get sued for doing their job (you're heroes guys!), a soft moronic judiciary and citizens who can't get guns for fear of them falling into the hands of criminals (who get theirs from Holland and France who have little gun law and we have no effective border control..) seem to be problems to me.. If it wasn't really the case over here it'd be funny!
How do I get to live in Canada?

Dogfather has landed and I'm leaving work in just a few minutes to go home and break her in. Not much daylight left, but I plan to make the most of it. I may give the Battle Rat a go as well, and if I can't restrain myself the Busse FBM. All are mint. I would say this could wait until Saturday, but it's my daughter's 1st birthday, so I kind of have plans.

I always travel with a gun when we are going on long drives. I have permits in several states. (Except for flying.)

You check the states where you have a ccw license and this system will show you all the states you may be able to carry. CCW License Tool

Greg: You're gonna break in a MINT FBM!!! You are a bigger man than I my friend. I was wishing I could of afforded a FBM LE. It would have been a USER too. I’d like one of those $1000+ LE Steel Hearts with the snakeskin scales too. It would also be a user. Someday…someday…
