why?........We already have the DFCG I think the real question is, Why not a smachet? I would think it would out-preform the CGDF simply by virtue of its mass and size (the Smachet is 4-5 inches across giving you a lot more steel. That and it would be cool to have the vintage-ness of a classic WW2 pattern in the Scrapyard line up.

I'd love a good S77 hatchet. I used to buy used hatchet heads at flea markets and maybe at a knife show and re-handle them. I just picked up a double-bitted axe head on e-bay and put a handle from Lowe's on it. I have absolutely no use for it...I must be watching to many Lumberjack contests on ESPN2.
