If the tools do not continue to carry the same warranty and stay the same price, there will be no need to buy that brand anymore. My guess is that all will stay the same from a consumer standpoint with the exception that you will see the brnad in more than one retailer.

On a funny side note, one of the first knives I made, I used a Craftsman file for the blade, and when finished you could still see the logo. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I always wondered what would happen if it broke and I took it to Sears for a replacement... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I actually sold the knife, so at some point I guess it could still happen. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Craftsman does make pocket knives. I have an older stockman style that I bought on eBay.

If Craftsman maintains their quality and guarantee they can do well anywhere. It's gotten to where the only reason I ever go to Sears is to buy a Craftsman tool.

Oh joy, another "big business" move made by suits. I am less than impressed. I suppose it could turn out good, but I doubt that the accountants have planned it this way. I bought Craftsman tools to be able to go in to a Sears and get a new tool if I broke mine. I have done this once, but it means quite a bit to my purchase strategy. Perhaps the warranty will continue, but this smells like the accountants have taken control. I hope this is not the case.
